When Swanhilda and her friends steal into the house they make the amazing discovery that the 'girl' is just a life-sized doll. The toymaker returns suddenly and the unexpected happens. With potent drink, magic spells, and frantic dancing surprises do happen.
'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Enjoy the magic of the holiday season with this family favorite. Clement C. Moore's narrative provides the background for this production created through dance and set to favorite Christmas carols. From the sentimental moonlit evening of preparation for St. Nicholas to his arrival with his dashing and dancing reindeer, 'Twas returns to the stage for its final run before returning to the repertoire for repose. Truly a delight for the whole family to cherish.
Petrouchka
The adventures of Petrouchka begin at a fair where merrymakers of all ages have come to watch the dancing, the puppets, and the joys of a carnival. Petrouchka is a puppet with a soul who falls in love with a ballerina and tries to win her, but loses. He dies, but his spirit lives on, in a freedom he had never known before. This child's version of the ballet lends charm and sensitivity to a poignant story that is set to the original Stravinsky music. |
